What absolute tragic loss!I love the music of Gotthard.A large part being attributed to the tremendous vocal talents of Steve Lee.
I first became aware of Gotthard music Around 1999 and was instantly hooked.I became such a big fan that I planned a trip in the summer of 2004 from Calif to Germany to see them play live on the Human Zoo tour.I contacted Gotthard's management (Frank) and he gave me free tickets to their shows in Munich and a show in Austria. Thanks Frank. They were great shows and The band surely delivered the goods live.I had the pleasure of meeting the band which was a great honor. The guys autographed about 25 cd's for me and I got some great pictures with the band. The guys were really Cool and were truly humbled by the fact that I would travel that far to see them perform. It was my pleasure.Overall it was a great experience.
When the next cd came out Lip Service I decided to travel to switzerland in dec of 2005 and see them perform in Lucerne. I got to Party with Leo and his highschool buddy who also played professional hockey at the time after the show back at the Hotel bar. That was fun.I then traveled to Zurich to watch them perform and and be filmed for the Live dvd in Zurich the next night.I will always cherish that night because of all the great people I met and the stellar show Gotthard performed for all us fans.Again thanks to Frank the tour manager he got me backstage to meet the band and everyone was in a great mood because of the successful dvd shoot.
I will always be a life long fan of Gotthard. My condolences go out to Steve's immediate family and friends and most importantly to his band mates for which none of the great music they gave us loyal fans would have been possible Without their team spirit.
I've asked my mother who is no longer with us to tell Steve I said Hello when she sees him.
