un jour d'été 1992, en balade par le Tessin et surtout à Lugano, nous nous sommes retrouvés derrière Steve en voiture, nous l'avons suivi jusqu'à ce qu'il s'arrête enfin à une station essence afin de faire une photo avec lui. Ce qu'il a fait avec grand plaisir et tout naturellement. Encore merci pour ce moment privilégié et pour son charisme et sa prestance sur scène ainsi que pour sa voix dont je ne me lasserai jamais. Mes sincères condoléances à tous ses proches et à sa famille

Steve´s voice and Gotthard music always helped me to go through difficult times of my life. I am very sad by learning about his death. He was so close to make his dream come true. These things should not happen while one´s making dreams true.

Es ist unfassbar. Uns haben lange die Worte gefehlt. Seit beginn von Gotthard sind wir grosse Fans. Viele schöne Konzerte und Momente durften wir mit und durch Gotthard erleben. Bei unserem letzten Konzert im August ist sogar mein Vater (70 jährig) zum ersten mal ans Open Air Gampel mitgekommen um Gotthard life zu erleben. Ich bin dankbar für diesen Moment. Dankbar für die tolle Musik. Durch sie ist Steve eine Legende.
Wir werden dich nie vergessen.

Liebe Angehörigen, liebe Bandmitglieder
Gotthard und besonders Steve war die Musik mit der ich gross wurde.
Ohne Gotthard ist die Schweiz nicht mehr das was sie mal war.
Ich hoffen Gott schenkt euch die Kraft uns ein wenig Schweiz wieder zurück zu geben.

To the family, friends and of course the other members of Gotthard, I send my deepest sympathy and condolences to you.

I only discovered the band in 2005 via the "Lip Service" album. I also had the chance to hear some of the other albums, and I questioned: "Why the hell isn't this band huge?" When I say huge, I mean 80,000+ Stadium huge.

Steve had, I feel, a unique voice. I had the chance to go and see Gotthard in London last year and I had to turn the chance down. How I wish now that I could have gone because now, in the light of this tragic event, a second chance is not going to be avaliable.

Steve, wherever you may be, be at peace.
