I've seen Gotthard many times; and in Steve Lee they had one of the finest vocalists and frontmen on the planet. To be taken so young, and in such a way, is hard to comprehend.

He's left a legacy of amazing music and some fabulous memories - most recently for me at The Garage in London earlier this year. He will be greatly missed by all of us who love this style of music; but mostly my thoughts go out to Steve's wife, family, bandmates and friends.

RIP, Steve - and thank you for so much great music.

Le légendaire et charismatique chanteur de Gotthard n'est plus...Mort dans un accident de moto, aux USA. Tué par un camion, ce mardi 6 octobre. 2010 est donc une année maudite : après Ronnie James Dio, une autre grande voix disparaît. Les images de Steve sur scène me reviennent en boucle et sont à jamais gravées dans ma mémoire : scrutant la salle, sa main sur le front tel un indien, ou nous montrant les signes de démence de son inoubliable Mountain Mama, ou encore l'interprétation acoustique du fabuleux 'In The Name' avec son pote et complice Léo à la guitare sèche...J'ai eu la chance et l'honneur de le rencontrer plusieurs fois, de discuter avec lui, de boire un verre. C'était un type génial, gentil, incroyable, unique...Let me find my piece of Heaven, let me find my way back home...Nous ne t'oublierons jamais, Steve. Mes condoléances à ta famille, ainsi qu'à Léo, Marc, Hena et Freddy. R.I.P. Jacky.
