I was just introduced to Gotthard's music over the past 6 months. I must say, being a huge Kiss and Van Halen fan.... Gotthard surpassed any other band I ever listened to. Your music and Steve's voice is something amazing. I can honestly say, I now know how Michael Jackson fans and Elvis Presley fans felt when they both passed. I'm a 39 year old man, with a wife and two children, and I'm not too proud to admit that I cried my eyes out when I heard this tragic news. I'm still havng a hard time dealing with this, but my thoughts and prayers go out to the family, the band... and all the fans! R.I.P. Steve..... God made a mistake on taking you so soon! We love you and miss you!

I would like to express my deepest condolences to Steves family, friends and fans all over the world. This news still hasnt sunk in, I still cant believe it, it seems too random to be true... So strange to be so overflown with emotion about someone youve never had the opportunity to meet and yet feel you know like your old best friend... Thank you so much for leaving us with such a legacy, youll live on forever in our hearts and in song... We miss you Steve...
with love - Patrick

What a sad news this is. I am a big fan from Mexico City and discovered Gotthard with their Homerun cd. I instantly felt in love with this great band from that point on. I always thought what an amazing voice Steve Lee had. When I saw and experienced the made in Switzerland DVD, I couldnt believe the amazing live energy of this band and in particular the stage leadership, artistry and showmanship of Steve. You couldnt avoid to think what a natural Karisma and talent he had. His voice was a unique combination of raw rock and roll power and an incredibly soulfull sensitivity. A combination you could still only see in the very greats of this genere.

My condolences, heart and prayers are with the family, band and friends of Steve. His talent was appreciated as far as Mexico and will live along with his music forever. RIP my friend and thanks so much for the great music you gave us.
Respectfully

Steve was part of a great rock group. All nice guys. Not arrogant. Not better than the other people. No chips on their shoulders. Approachable. Add to this for Steve: eloquent. We met him on a walk near Gandria Ti. We all stopped and said hi, our wives knew each other and he said hi to my kids, who absolutely loved Steve. We talked for awhile (in english) all the time just being a normal guy. He said it was too bad we were moving back home to Canada, but he hoped that the kids could come see another concert, because they so wanted to see Gotthard play again. We said our goodbyes and I remember my oldest daughter saying to me: 'he is such a great guy'. She's right. He was. He made a great impression on my kids each time he met them and they remember him today as if they had met him yesterday. My kids were shocked when I told them the news. Steve was "One in a Million".
